Attorneys Arnold Rutkin, Sarah Oldham and David Griffin attended the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Annual Meeting in Chicago on November 7 – 10, 2018.
The entire legal program was organized and coordinated by Attorney David Griffin, an undertaking which was over a year in the making. The first day focused on estate and trust issues related to “graying” divorces, the second day focused on various legal challenges pertaining to three parent families, assisted reproduction, genetic donor, and surrogate contracts. Day three was dedicated solely to ethics, including the top ethical traps, the rules of professional conduct and how to avoid ethical pitfalls. The presentations were well-received by all who attended.
Attorney Rutkin again lent his fundraising skills to the AAML Foundation, a charitable organization which yearly provides assistance to organizations by way of grants, in order to help families and particularly the children adversely impacted by the breakup of the family unit. Attorney Rutkin is a founding member of the Foundation and spearheaded the very successful Billable Hour Campaign, where every Fellow of the AAML is asked to donate one billable hour to the Foundation.
