Attorney David W. Griffin Presents on Attorney-Client Relationships at AAML Midyear Meeting

Attorney David W. Griffin recently traveled to the Midyear Meeting of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) to present to a national audience of leading family law attorneys on the topic of Start to Finish: Attorney Relationships With Our Clients. Griffin was joined on the podium by AAML Fellows Cheryl Hepfer of Maryland and Louis Waterman of Kentucky. In this interactive and informative session, Attorney Griffin and his co-presenters discussed the attorney-client relationship, beginning prior to the initial contact, and continuing all the way through a case and to the period after the “close” of the case. The presentation covered essential topics such as effective methods for gathering initial information and strategies for optimizing and personalizing client interactions to ensure that the lawyer-client relationship is most effective for both client and lawyer. Topics such as providing documents to asking questions and setting expectations, the audience was engaged to explore this ever-changing landscape and receive take away practical tips intended to enhance the client experience. In addition to his skills in settling cases and litigating when necessary, Griffin is a sought-after speaker across a variety of family law topics, including complex finances, valuation and compensation, high conflict custody matters and discovery and use of electronically stored information across a variety of digital platforms and media.

Griffin is a Fellow of both the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the International Academy of Family Lawyers. He is the former President of the Connecticut Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and has previously served as the Chair of the Family Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association. He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the CBA Family Law Section. He was named AAML National Fellow of the Year in 2016 and has been recognized as a “Top 50” Lawyer in Connecticut across all practice areas by SuperLawyers for 7 consecutive years.
